| Nelsonville-York running back Chase Elliott rushed for 142 yards and three scores in the 2000 Tomcat/Buckeye match-up to lead his team to a 28-7 win. It was the Bucks rushing defense that shared the spotlight as well as they held the Tomcats to just 37 yards rushing for the game. Trimble actually got on the board first after a scoreless first quarter when fullback Kyle Andrews plunged in from a yard out. The touchdown was set up when Tomcat Justin Guinther recovered a fumble in Buckeye territory. Nelsonville-York quickly answered when Jasper Bateman found Ryan Horrocks on a two yard scoring completion. Elliott put the Buckeyes in the league for good with 5:38 left in the first half on a 13-yard run. After most of the third quarter was scoreless, Elliott scored again from 13-yards away. Elliott's final score of the game was on a 62-yard sprint that closed out the scoring for the night. Both teams exit the contest with 3-2 records.
