Change is inevitable, and the 1992 game between Trimble and Nelsonville-York was the last before some major changes occurred. Going into the game both teams knew that it would be the last time they met at the end of the league season, the last time they would play in league competition, and the last time legendary coach Dave Boston would guide the Buckeyes in a regular season game. The game itself also had some important connotations. The Buckeyes entered 9-0 and the Tomcats were 7-2. Nelsonville-York was also in position to qualify for the state playoffs with a win. The Buckeyes wasted no time in lighting up the scoreboard as Senior running back Casey Nungester scored on a three yard run for the only touchdown of the first quarter.  After a Matt Call interception, Sophomore Justin Gail then scored the first of his three touchdowns from seven yards away. Then Gail returned a blocked punt 35 yards for a score, making the halftime score 20-0 in favor of the Buckeyes. The second half started very similar to the end of the first.  Nungester scored on a one yard run, then Gail scored from the same distance to put the score to 34-0. With 2:35 seconds left in the third quarter Trimble got on the board when Tom Hardy scored on a five yard run. Hardy complimented his touchdown by adding the two-point conversion and the score after three quarters was 34-8. The final score of the game came with less than a minute to play, when Rusty Richards found Cory Lewis on a five yard touchdown pass.  In the twelve years that the Trimble/Nelsonville-York game was played in the last week of league play, a league title was on the line in all but four games. A trip to the playoffs was the prize for the winners in five times, as well as a perfect season. Coach Boston walks away from the rivalry having participated in every match-up since its inception. In the rivalry he had a 13-8-2 record
