For the fifth time in the rivalry between the Buckeyes and Tomcats the game ended with a shut-out, this time both squads were unable to score as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.  Combined the teams punted 17 times, and had five turnovers.  The biggest scoring threat of the game was by the Buckeyes in the third quarter when they drove to the Tomcat 26, but were stopped on a fourth and one.  The closest the Tomcats could come to the endzone was earlier in the third when they pushed to the Buckeye 36.  The leading rusher for the game was Nelsonville-York's Mike Beech who had 65 yards in 21 carries.  Trimble was paced on the ground by Wayne Kolbe who had 13 carries for 24 yards.  Trimble middle linebacker Tony Trace recorded 22 tackles on the evening, while both defenses held the opponent to under 100 total yards.  Each team exited the contest with 1-0-1 records.
