| With a balanced offense tipped slightly in favor of the passing game, Juniors Bill Woodson, Greg Smathers, Max Pitts, and Dave Pritchard lead the Buckeyes over the Tomcats for the second straight year, this time with a final score of 45-0. Bill Woodson, the game's leading rusher with 97 yards, got on the board twice in the opening quarter. His first score was from ten yards out, and his second was on a 60 yard sprint later in the first quarter. In the final seconds of the first quarter, quarterback Pritchard found Max Pitts for a 57 yard touchdown pass. In the second quarter Pritchard threw for two more scores. One to Woodson from 27 yards out and the other to Smathers from 41 yards away. In the third quarter Pritchard suffered a minor ankle injury and Coach Dave Boston decided to sit his starter for the remained of game. Pitts then switched from receiver to quarterback and ended the third quarter by finding Smathers for a 51 yard score. Smathers capped the scoring early in the fourth quarter when he returned a Glouster punt 61 yards to paydirt. On the other side of the ball, the Buckeye defense was overwelming, holding the Tomcats to just 57 total yards, and permitted them into their territory only twice.
