The Trimble Tomcats: A Helmet History
From the 1964 consolidation through the 1970 season the Tomcats wore an all-white, white facemask helmet
For the 1971 and 1972 seasons the Tomcats had a gray helmet with a white "G" and gray facemasks
In 1973 the name of the school changed from Glouster to Trimble and the white "G" came off the helmet
For the 1974 and 1975 seasons the gray helmets had a red "T" and stripes of white, red, and white down the middle, and gray facemasks.
A lasting change to the helmet took place in 1976 when the Tomcats switched to red helmets. To the right is the '76 helmet with a white "T" and three stripes down the middle of white, gray, and white, with gray facemasks
The 1977 helmet only had three stripes of white, gray, and white down the middle
The picture above shows the correct color of red for Trimble helmets 1976 to the present
The 1978 season began Trimble's love affair with the "paw" helmet.  For the 1978, 1979 seasons the Tomcats wore the helmet shown right only with a gray facemask.  The 1982 and 1983 season wore the helmet shown in the picture to the right.  The 1984 and 1985 teams wore the same decal scheme except the paw was gray.  Starting in the 1981 season Trimble switched to white facemasks and have never gone back to gray.
