All District
Trimble landed four players on the first team of the Southeast District. Sophomore Tyler Dyla was name offensive player of the year. Kacey Cruse, Adam Mulford and Kyle Dyer were also first team selections. Honorable mention spots went to Joe Eing and Brandon Keith. All-State will be announced in a few weeks, but a player named district player of the year is automatically named to the first team All-State. Therefore, congratulations to Tyler Dyla for becoming Trimble's first Sophomore All-State Selection! Hopefully we add a few more to the list. 2008-11-15 23:49:50 GMTComments: 1 |Permanent Link
The Playoffs
With a 26-7 win the Tomcats advance to the second round in the OHSAA playoffs for only the second time in school history. They will play the undefeated River Pilots. As Rusty Martin would say the "Transitive Property" does not apply, but the Pilots beat Caldwell 14-7 earlier this year. River is a run until you are asleep and then get you with a play action pass team, and have a line-up of good size and athletes. The site of the game will be determined on Sunday "morning". (The OHSAA always says around 10:00am is when they will announce the location, but it has been my experience that it sometimes gets the word out in the mid-afternoon.) Congratulations Tomcats, Coach Faires and the rest of the coaching staff on a outstanding, dominating win last night. It's very obvious that this Tomcat team more than demonstrates PRIDE, HIT, & DESIRE! 2008-11-01 12:55:59 GMTComments: 1 |Permanent Link
Playoffs
For the fourth time this decade the Trimble Tomcats are in the playoffs. For the third time they will be hosting the game, this time against the Caldwell Redskins. Caldwell enters the game with the same record as Trimble, 8-2. My EARLY breakdown of this game: Caldwell 8-2, senior laden team led by a good QB, Head Coach is Mike Devol who was at Warren Local during the mid to late 90's, then won a West Virginia State Championship at Parkersburg South. Like the old game Mortal Kombat, this might be a "shadow match". With the 'Cats playing a team that looks, plays, and hits like them. I'll favor the Tomcats by a touchdown. 2008-10-26 15:06:42 GMTComments: 0 |Permanent Link
TVC
For the 12th time in school history the TVC-Hocking football championship banner will hang in Trimble Local High School. The 'Cats had a perfect 5-0 record in league play, rolled up an impressive 229 points while surrendering 48 (creating an average score for a league game of 46-10). Trimble now awaits the Saturday games to determine who they will play at Glouster Memorial Stadium on Friday October 31, at 7:30pm. 2008-10-25 13:12:47 GMTComments: 0 |Permanent Link
